Concord Farmers’ Market  Rules

The following rules are adopted by a 2/3rd vote of the membership present at any regularly scheduled meeting of the CFMA with a (13) day notice given:

  1. A member selling to the public by weight will use certified, licensed in New Hampshire and legal for trade scales.
  2. A member selling to the public will prominently display their prices.
  3. Products will be labeled and sold in accordance with applicable state law.
  4. The Concord area is defined as a twenty-five (25) mile radius of downtown Concord. Farmers/growers/producers beyond a twenty five mile radius may make special application for membership.
  5. “Native, Our Own and Local” will be defined as in RSA 426:5.
  6. All products sold must have been grown or produced in New Hampshire. Any agricultural product which is not grown or produced by the seller must be labeled as to who did grow or produce it. 75% of the vendors retail sales must be products grown or produced by the member/vendor.
  7. A member selling New Hampshire produce not grown by him/herself, cannot under price that same item sold at the market by a member who did grow it. Once the member grown item is sold out, then the price of the brought in item may be lowered as far as the established market minimum.
  8. The suggested market minimum price will be as reflected in the most current pricing available in the Weekly Market Bulletin, Merrimack Valley section and the seasonal maple prices.
  9. To protect the integrity and reputation of the Concord Farmers Market, it is a goal that 75% of the vendors by number shall be NH agricultural based producers. NH agricultural-based products include but are not limited to: agricultural crafts, baked goods, dairy, eggs, fiber goods & crafts, flowers, fresh fruits & berries, herbs, honey, jams & jellies, potted plants, poultry & meat products, seeds, syrup, vegetables, and wood crafts & products.
  10. No vehicles will be driven into or out of the market area during hours of the market. All Market vehicles will need to be in place by 8:15 am, no vehicles will be allowed to move on and down Capitol St. no earlier than 12:10 pm (amended 3/19)
  11. At the annual meeting the membership will establish the operating hours and dates of the market
  12. At the annual meeting the membership will establish the vendor fee.
  13. The market space allotment plan will be considered permanent throughout the market season, unless absences require a consolidation of the market. Changes will be made upon agreement of the involved members and the Market Manager.
  14. Vendors will not be able to vend if there is no updated proof of insurance on file.
  15. The Guest Vendor Coordinator needs to be notified by Wednesday before 6 pm if the vendor is not planning on attending the Saturday Market. If coordinator is not notified in time then the vendor will be required to pay for their space for that week.
